  • I’m not sure why Surgemail is so inclined to pick on this one user, but I am ecstatic that Spiceworks is once again without blame. This is new as of today, and reaffirms that the original problem was with how Surgemail was forwarding her messages. You notice there aren’t any other held messages, because her original messages were not being marked as spam.

Looking at the Held Messages, you see both of her messages were being held there. Because of that they never made it into Spiceworks. For a brief moment, I almost thought Spiceworks was to blame however, when I started digging through the Surgemail log files I found out otherwise. Looking at the log, it appears both of those messages (being forwarded from Helpdesk to Spicedesk) were marked as spam by Surgemail. This morning the same user sent in four tickets, and two of them didn't make it into Spiceworks. It was a little weird that this problem was only affecting one user, but after two weeks of testing it those changes I made to Surgemail had fixed the problem entirely. I finally worked out there was a problem with how Surgemail was handling the forwarded emails. The email admin and I went back and forth for about a month. Spiceworks was my recommendation, my project, and my baby. When he said it was Spiceworks, everyone listened to him and told me to fix it or we would go back to our old system. Sadly I am new with the company, and the email admin has been here much longer than me. (We are working on an Exchange project, which I cannot wait to be finished.) We had a problem last month with one user who would email in tickets, and about 20% of them would not make it into Spiceworks.īeing the fanatical Spiceworks user I am, I immediately blamed Suregmail. (This is because the Helpdesk's email account is well established and used in mailing list and by vendors.)Ĭurrently we are using Surgemail to handle our emailing needs.

Tickets are emailed into our Helpdesk's email account, and automatically forwarded into the Spiceworks email account based on certain criteria. So our Spiceworks setup is a little weird.
